AmericasRelief Team conducts multiple programs and initiatives as advocates, coordinators, and facilitators in the planning and implementation for the effective distribution of disaster relief to victims of humanitarian crises in the Americas.

PROVIDE EFFECTIVE DISTRIBUTION
Collaborate for Effective Distribution
of Relief Aid to the Americas
Provide collaborative response mecha-nisms when disasters occur & facilitate and coordinate relief aid logistics for the members and others
 

  • Arrange for the delivery of disaster relief.
  • Respond to requests from members, Florida Governor, and others to provide assistance to help the Americas recover from the devastation created by natural disasters and humanitarian crises.
  • Manage the response of members in a coordinated, cost-effective, and rapid manner.
  • Recommend contingency plans for members and countries in the Americas.
 
 
ADVOCATE FOR EFFICIENT
PROTOCOLS
Collaborate for Effective Emergency Management Logistics Programs, and Development of Comprehensive National Disaster Plans
Advocate for efficient logistics integra-tion, and provide advice on state-of-the-art logistics techniques and effective emergency relief protocols. And provide guidance for implementation of effective supply chain management.
 
  • Engage national disaster managers in the Americas to participate in the creation of effective plans help formalize effective emergency management programs, utilizing CPFR strategic planning.
  • Formalize a Joint Strategy Committee on response to disasters for best practices on management, supply chain planning, and execution process.
  • Advance collaborative discussions with NGOs to enhance humanitarian response throughout the Americas.
  • Cultivate collaborative dialogue with NGOs working in Latin America to develop shipping & distribution protocols for non-perishable and medical relief supplies.

Conduct Relief Aid
Educational Programs
Encourage and conduct educational pro-grams on effective processing, distri-bution, logistics, and capacity building.
 
  • Participate in conferences and forums, which deal with disaster preparedness, planning, and distribution.
  • Provide material for articles and write articles for the media, such as "Working to ensure quick delivery of relief sup-plies," published in 2005.
  • Sponsor workshops, information for-ums, and presentations to help national disaster planners in the Americas.
  • Collaborate with the Center for International Disaster, the U.S. Agency for International Development Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA), and others to share information and prepare relief strategies.

Within our core strengths, support broad range planning & implementation, and assist in the assessing and surveying of needs and damage, to help guide the effective channeling of emergency relief to the most affected areas of target countries.
 
  • Move forward programs to address complex challenges in the delivery of humanitarian assistance to vulnerable people. Collaborate with the private and academic sectors to mobilize expertise, technology and resources.
  • Move forward discussions with the haitian Resource Development Found-ation to help establish a National Disaster Management Logistics sys-tem for Haiti.
